About Dr. Zimmer
Dr. Zimmer grew up near Spokane, and received his B.S. degree in Biology from Gonzaga University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1979, receiving his D.D.S. degree. At graduation he was honored with the Academy of General Dentistry's Achievement Award for demonstrating outstanding promise in the practice of general dentistry. The United States Army awarded him consecutive full academic scholarships for both university degrees. He served in the United States Army as a General Dental Officer, with assignments in West Germany, South Korea, and Fort Lewis. In 1986 he established his solo dental practice in Tacoma.
Dr. Zimmer is a member of the Pierce County Dental Society (PCDS), the Washington State Dental Association (WSDA), the American Dental Association (ADA), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT), and the International Association of Mercury Free Dentists (IAMFD). He recently completed a 4 year term on the WSDA’s Committee for the Pacific Northwest Dental Conference.
Seattle Metro Magazine has honored Dr. Zimmer by selecting him for their "Best Dentists of the Seattle Area" award for 2014 through 2018.
